Trees have attracted my attention for many years. From their sheer size and beauty, especially the Redwoods in California, to learning how to interact on a heart based connection. I have been shown by them how to create natural shrines at their base, sit and drum or play the flute and honor all they do as part of our harmonious eco system (and right now it is working so hard to balance and reset.)
Trees have a symbiotic relationship with other plants and animals, and what I learned while studying with Nancy Windheart back in 2014 is that a dead tree is not dead!
What appears to be dead is still very much alive to the insects and animals who’s home it becomes.  One of the trees at my home in Milton was names the Dead Tree that wasn’t Dead. We did so many meditation and shamanic circles around it.
Then one day, I came out to see it after a storm and it had fallen!  I was devastated and so sad!  Yet when I asked the tree the message was it now had a new purpose and invited me to journey into the trunk!
It was an experience that showed me many doors as I walked into the trunk. I eventually stopped at one of the doors and opened it…… my great grandfather was there welcoming me. He shared a message and we had time together before I returned from my journey.
I invite you to see BEYOND what you see and ask questions of our beloved Standing Ones. How can you support them while you are walking through the woods. We are all symbiotic creatures of Mother Earth, it’s time to remember what a natural interaction and loving gift this can be for us all.
Sunshine and Echoe have had a very different symbiotic relationship with trees as they make great scratching posts.
As I watched Sunshine pick a tree or two this morning (she like to share), she leaned in to her shoulder and neck, a favorite place for a good rubbing and I am sure her desired result feels so much more effective than a brush!
