Life is an amazing tool for learning about you! Being open to experiencing the unexpected and witnessing the unplanned become planned, sometimes, in the blink of an eye.
Usually around Fall I am looking to the Winter months and creating a trip to explore the more Southern areas of the US. This year my calling was to travel West, stopping in New Mexico, Arizona, and California. Some of the trip was to visit with friends I haven’t seen in a while who I met in California in 2019. There would certainly be plenty to see and do along the way. My dear friend Amy and I usually meet up or travel together in some form, and she has bailed me out over the years when I have needed a companion to drive with me on my unforeseen trips!!
As we began to plan the Winter we both kept feeling like the trip wasn’t happening! So strange and mysterious as we wondered why we both knew it wasn’t happening yet perplexed as to why, and then we let it go. I have learned to TRUST and ALLOW the guidance to help me follow the signs/tracks along the way. Then when life shifts it feels like you had been prepared in some way and trust that being in the process was more important than trying to push through and MAKE IT HAPPEN!! Have you ever felt the push back and then experience the reasons why something was not supposed to happen in that time frame, or at all? How we choose to weave through this intuitive guidance and not let our minds and ego get in the way……..there’s a great life lesson!

As Amy and I both settled in to the fact that this trip was not going to transpire, we gave it space to unravel and show us the why. I was being guided to remain in New England this winter…….. certainly many lessons there, and Amy was being guided to visit with her son in California. Each time we would talk on the phone we would check back in with the idea of traveling and we received an almighty NO! Life has taught me to honor those moments and learn to discern how to navigate the changes rather than be in a place of stubbornness to make the plan work.
I decided to stay on the farm and live close by. Then I could be available for Sunshine. She had already shared with me that we were not to be apart this Winter. My choices were either stay in Maine or we all travel to one location together. She can be bossy, yet she has always had wonderful foresight that I have learned to trust. So I resided to finding the joy and camaraderie of being in New England, with the many dear friends who were excited to find fun outdoor activities together and for me to embrace the cold, the snow and seek my own peace in staying. It was going to be a good winter!

Towards the beginning of November I felt a shift in alignment……haha, welcome to my world! The pieces of the puzzle unraveled and began to paint a different picture. I was chatting with Amy and asked if Maui, Sunshine and I could spend the winter in North Carolina with her and her family (Amy had given me an open invitation to stay there many times in the past). By the end of the call the decision was made and I was going to bring Sunshine, Maui and my Camper to North Carolina. This set in motion more of the unraveling, and in my personal experiences of life’s realignment, when the path lights up, the organizing is easy. Next on my immediate agenda was to contact East Coast Transport to schedule Sunshine on their next trip South. I have used them in the past and they have been shipping horses for decades, so their drivers are trustworthy and they take really good care of the horses they are moving.

Their next travel South was towards the end of November, perfect timing to get myself and Sunshine ready for our Winter relocation. I completed the contract and emailed it back to East Coast Transport. Next, contact my veterinarian, Dr Nicole Kellum for the Health Certificate and Coggins Bloodwork Papers required by the transport driver when horses are moving from State to State. Dr Kellum came a week later to do the health check and by that evening I had all the paperwork ready – now for a confirmed travel/arrival date and I would be able to print out the paperwork ready for the driver when he collected Sunshine. It was all coming together.
It is always more fun to travel with a co-pilot. I called my dear friend Dorothy and literally threw the idea of a 4-day trip at her. As expected, Dorothy was up for the road trip, needed to check work commitments and social plans but she said it was likely a go.

Living in the mystery, in the Spirit of the moment, has been a gift to learn how to embrace. When life turns on a dime and you are faced with unexpected changes, know that taking it one step at a time, calling in your Guides and breathing, can be some of the most simple, yet effective tools to remain aligned to the purpose and flow of the change.
Now it was time to take a breath and attend to the details of moving for the winter. AND THEN, I receive a call from Pat at East Coast Transport that the Driver has tested positive for COVID and wouldn’t be making the trip. The likely next departure date would be closer to the end of December. Sandy was the other transporter who was available and would now be taking Sunshine to North Carolina – all good so far – however, she needed to collect her on November 19 th – almost 10 days earlier than expected/planned for. Now do I recreate the web that has been laid out so perfectly? What questions do you ask so you can remain in your heart and not charge right in to your head to make the change work or not accept the change. I didn’t know if all my classes and event plans could be adjusted, and I didn’t know if Dorothy would still be able to make it, and I didn’t know if I should wait for the next shipping date with Sandy of December 10th and I didn’t know what to do next!

So I stopped, sat and asked for guidance…….

I decided that November 19th was a go! Now to bring all my plans forward by a week – to hope that Dorothy could make it (we travel so well together), and to cancel or reschedule to 2023 the events already planned. Piece by piece the new puzzle came together and the trip was confirmed for Dorothy and I to leave Maine on November 17th , and Sunshine would be collected on November 19th . Time to take another breath and prepare……….

On November 20th , Dorothy and I arrived in North Carolina around 2:15pm, greeted by Amy and Laura as we backed down the driveway to park the camper alongside their garage – Dorothy and I had a great, fun and occasionally challenging trip – we learned that we faced challenges with a WINK (this was a Daily Inspiration that Dorothy receives on her phone every day and this was the perfect fit)!  At 2:45pm Dorothy joined Amy and Laura for tea, and I went in to my camper for a pre-scheduled Book Reading/Meditation event on ZOOM. Welcome to North Carolina!

At 10:30pm that same day, Sunshine arrived. She looked amazing and had traveled really well. This was the first time she hadn’t connected to me telepathically because she was ready to be done with the being in the trailer. I found out when she arrived that she had become friends with one of her fellow travelers and then the reasons she was content were revealed. Our tribe was reconnected………
